MakeupAlley App Reviews

Very easy to use and find the products so you can read multiple reviews from people before you buy the item. Only slight negative is the option to scan the barcode for the product doesnt work properly. I tried more than one product close to the photo box on the screen and pulled back but it wont focus in clearly. Other apps I have scan barcodes without problems. That feature being fixed would make it even quicker to look up items while my husband is "patiently" waiting for me to decide lol.

As a longtime user of the Makeupalley website, I loved when they came out with an app. I love being able to look up reviews easily when Im at a store. What I dont love is the ads lately. They used to just be a banner at the bottom of the app...now there are freaking pop-up videos. If Im in a store or even somewhere that needs to be quiet, these ads come with no warning and are embarrassing. Maybe make a paid version without ads? Also, this app has been freezing a lot lately.

Quick access to the latest reviews posted. I could spend hours on this app!

After spending some time on the website, I downloaded the app and I like it. Search is quick and it is easy to find info you need about the products. Looking forward to the features that are on the site but not in the app yet.

Attempting to search for a product yields no results, no matter what. Completely unusable now as search is its main function. Please fix ASAP.

Ever since the update nothing works, just comes up blank. PLEASE FIX THIS. This was one of my most used apps. 1 star until this problem is fixed.

After the update, it doesnt work. My favorite app of all time just failed. Please fix ASAP !

I guess the new update messed it up because I cant find anything. When I type a product name it comes up as well, nothing! Please fix this. It was great until this new update!

Broke the app. It wasnt perfect before, maybe 3 out of 5 stars but now it doesnt even load so I wish I could give it 0 stars. Please fix it. I love MUA, I hate their app though. (Also please fix the bug on the old app where sorting reviews would take you back to the top of the page every time you clicked on one to read.)

I absolutely love MakeupAlley and use it every time I look up makeup - but! This version, at least for me, glitches and unexpectedly shuts down without a fail whenever I search for an item. I hope this is fixed soon so I can resume using this app!

Love the barcode scanner! Its quick and easy to use, the app is never slow or crashed on me

Its quicker than going on mobile. Im very cautious when I download apps because Im picky with my memory space. However I dont like that you need to write the exact name of a product. I mean EXACTLY. If you forget one word on the label, you wont find the product listed. I wish it was more relaxed about that. Also the barcode scanner isnt the best. I prefer the ones that have a line on the screen so I know precisely when to aim the barcode. With this its a lot of moving the barcode around until it decides to pick it up.

So you can only look for some products. No boards or any other functionality. Filtering is awful. Other than that ok

The first search I did offered a "sort by" option which I clicked on and then the app froze so I had to restart it at which point it did the same thing again… So you can scroll through hundreds of unsorted results or use a different app I guess LOL not very helpful.

I absolutely love this app. I use it all the time, especially in stores when Im not entirely sure which product to buy and want to compare different brands. It has never let me down and Ive discovered new products using it also. The problem that has just recently started about 2 weeks ago( after the ios8 update) is that, I too, am having issues with the sort by button. It freezes every time and then I have to close the app and restart it. This would get 5 stars if it wasnt for that. Please fix it! Its so inconvenient when trying to search for products. Other than that, love this app and the website!!

Its not working! Crashes, freezes, doesnt open up! I love this app I use it everywhere! Its useless now since the iOS 8 update :(

When I go out and want to check any beauty product this my go to app. Love it!

Since the update it will not auto fill or suggest brand names.
